GK Brock. Visionary Artist & Sculptor.
GK Brock was born in Puyallup, Washington in 1955. He migrated to Portland, Oregon in his youth where he stayed for the remainder of his adolescent education. While studying for his Bachelors of Science degree at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon GK was chosen to serve as Art Sculpture student assistant and was a key participant in the creation of a sculpture garden and various other works of art placed on the campus grounds there.
Following his schooling, GK completed an internship at West Hills Psychiatric Hospital in Beaverton, Oregon where his college degree served as the instructional platform upon which all art mediums were utilized in the treatment of psychologically impaired patients in that hospital in-patient setting.
GK spent several years serving as a hospital administrator, most recently as Director of Rehabilitation Services, Sleep Center and Neuro Diagnositcs Departments at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California.
Following the second of two head injuries; the first in 2003 and the other in 2007, GK received an unusual gift or ability to paint and sculpt by visionary means. This ability further developed when his doctors suggested he try utilizing a variety of art mediums in order to stimulate the portion of his brain that had been damaged. He has been painting and creating works of art ever since.
GK Brock currently works as a full-time artist from his home in Grandview, Washington. He is showing his biblically-inspired pieces at galleries and events across Washington and Oregon states.
